The World Medical & Health Games can be compared to Olympic Games dedicated to health professionals. Annually held since 1978, this year, the 39th edition of the Games will take place on the fabulous island of Malta from 16 to 23 June.
Open to all health professions, the event welcomes up to 2,000 participants from more than 40 different nationalities, gathered around 26 sport disciplines (individual or collective) and an International Sport Medicine Symposium. As every year, the Medigames will allow athletes from around the world to relax and enjoy a week of sport and scientific exchange.
The International Sport Medicine Symposium is accredited by the UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) and is chaired by Dr. André Monroche (Former President of the French Society of Exercise and Sport Medicine from 2001 to 2005) and Vice-Chaired by Prof. Xavier Bigard (Scientific Advisor to the French Anti-Doping Agency and former President of the French Society of Exercise and Sport Medicine).
The Symposium, to be held on June 20th at the heart of the Medigames’ week, is themed “the pathologies of the lower limbs in the sports environment”. It will allow the candidates to present a topic of their choice to the Scientific Committee of Medigames, or post their research in the dedicated ‘poster space’.
With 2000 participants, more than 40 countries represented and 26 sports offered, the World Medical & Health Games is bound to be a huge success.
