‘Medical and Health Humanities in Africa – Inclusion, Access, and Social Justice’
“Wamkelekile, karibu, welkom, and welcome,” begins the introduction to this special issue, guest edited by Carla Tsampiras[1], Nolwazi Mkhwanazi[2], and Victoria Hume[3]. In this, our final issue of 2018, we are pleased to present works from parts of Africa on the subject of inclusion, access, and social justice. We will be promoting this issue throughout December and January with associated blog posts and audio content, so it helps us ring in a new year’s theme on Global Health and Global Outreach. As the editors explain, Medical and Health Humanities (MHH) is a nascent field on the African continent. The articles in this issue seek to strengthen networks continentally and internationally, and to explore understandings, practices, and perceptions of MHH in other African countries. As usual, we will be posting article summaries and sound bites on the blog, as well as original content developed by the special issue specifically for this venue. You can see the Table of Contents for the journal issue here, including the online commentaries. In addition, the following will be available through the course of December and January–see the dates below.
