I am a physiotherapist and exercise physiologist working as a research scientist at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway. I like to keep busy with work, family (including 3 kids), and saying “yes” to things more often than I should.
What is your main area of research / clinical expertise?
Prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases by exercise interventions.
What is your motivation to be a member of the BOSEM team?
I think that science should be available to everyone (who has WIFI) and hope to contribute with my expertise to make the quality of the published articles in BOSEM better.
What is a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?
I am really proud of myself for the times that I feel that I have planted a seed of passion for evidence-based medicine in a student.
Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?
Several people have influenced me when it comes to how I approach my work. These people include both my parents, my PhD supervisor, and my current mentor John Hawley. I have also learned a lot from other colleagues, especially those with multiple kids, about prioritising what really matters.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
To do a high-intensity interval session, followed by a nice meal and a glass of wine in front of the TV.
