I am a Sport and Exercise Physician from Sydney, Australia, working in private practice. I was born in – what was – a small tourist town on the north coast of NSW and moved to the city to attend university. I am married with 2 almost grown children and enjoy stand up paddleboarding on Sydney Harbour. I have an interest in anti-doping and work to develop SEM online education modules part-time.
What is your main area of research / clinical expertise?
As an SEM physician, I see all manner of patients but enjoy the medical side of SEM and issues surrounding endurance athletes. I am interested in the trunk’s neuromotor control and how poor load transfer leads to pain and other symptoms in the thoracic and lumbopelvic region.
What is your motivation to be a member of the BOSEM team?
Work internationally with other like-minded colleagues have the opportunity to share my skills in the area of education and critical analysis. Understand how the world of journals works.

Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?
Dr Ken Crichton, one of the early SEM Physicians in Australia, was my first teacher and mentor.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
Some exercise, a glass of wine, and a good meal.
