International Day of Zero Tolerance of Female Genital Mutilation, 6 February 2012

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) are holding a joint event to include a panel of experts on FGM to mark International Day of Zero Tolerance of Female Genital Mutilation on Monday 6 February 2012 from 2.00–6.00pm at the RCOG, Regent’s Park, 27 Sussex Place, London NW1 4RG, UK.

Purpose
The aim of the day is to bring together different agencies and organisations involved in FGM to discuss the problems and develop practical solutions to eradicate this harmful practice. The event will be of interest to:

  • Healthcare professionals – doctors, nurses, midwives
  • Legal professionals working on FGM cases
  • Government officials working on FGM or child protection issues
  • Social workers dealing with FGM or child protection issues
  • Charities, NGOs and not-for-profit organisations with work streams on FGM
  • Anyone with a genuine interest on the subject.
