You were stillness
A Well of depthless inactivity
Amongst the motion
Frenetic concentration
Blue dress staring at lit screens
Beside you
Not involving you
Your stillness a stark wall
Of non-involvement
I stood,
Wishing to be part of your pool,
To step within your well
But caught in the maelstrom
Of activity around you.
Your stillness is not contagious
But I can’t look away
I shall join you now
To be still
Together.
The rock and the crime
My Tower. Your heart.
