The factors that predispose individuals with Lynch syndrome to gastric cancer are not well-described.\u00a0 In our cohort of 255 individuals with Lynch syndrome, chronic immune gastritis was observed in over 70% of the cases with gastric cancer and in none of the patients without gastric cancer.\u00a0 This suggests that chronic inflammation is an important risk factor and an evaluation for underlying immune gastritis should be included in surveillance protocols for individuals with Lynch syndrome.\u00a0\u00a0(https:\/\/jmg.bmj.com\/content\/early\/2019\/05\/04\/jmedgenet-2018-105757<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
