As of July 1,\u00a0background checks would be required for private and online gun sales and ammunition magazines holding more than 15 rounds would be banned. That is the good news. The <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>bad new<\/strong><\/span>s is that the same day a prison chief was shot and died \u00a0and Human Events (Powerful Conservative Voices) quoted \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2013\/03\/17\/colorado-sheriff-says-new-state-gun-laws-wont-be-enforced\/#ixzz2NuM6BSyN\">Fox News<\/a>\u00a0saying that&#8221; local sheriffs are announcing they won\u2019t enforce the new laws. \u00a0Weld County Sheriff John Cooke said \u201cthey\u2019re feel-good, knee-jerk reactions that are unenforceable,\u201d and they give citizens \u201ca false sense of security.\u201d Editors comment: Will readers please explain what will give citizens a genuine sense of security?<\/h3>\n<p><!--TrendMD v2.4.8--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today on FairWarning (an excellent site, btw) there was a good news announcement that the governor of Colorado signed a bill restricting firearms.
