Sadly I am still waiting to hear<br \/>\nany positive responses.  <!--more-->Well done to everyone who secured<br \/>\nan interview.  I guess that I should be thankful that I<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t have to worry about that with the clinical exams<br \/>\ncoming up in a couple of weeks &#8211; one of my colleagues with<br \/>\nwhom I am revising secured an interview in Manchester and<br \/>\nwill spend most of this week preparing his portfolio<br \/>\nwhilst trying to both work and revise.  I, too, am back to<br \/>\nthe revision table, depserately clutching my copy of<br \/>\nCatherine Parchment Smith&#8217;s epic book (I worry that when I<br \/>\ngo to the exam I may introduce myself as Dr Parchment<br \/>\nSmith) everywhere I go, inducing sympathetic looks from<br \/>\nsenior colleagues who instantly recognise the cover.<\/p>\n<p>Going back into my revision box also means putting my<br \/>\nNintendo Wii to one side for another few weeks, despite<br \/>\nrecent <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/health\/7262770.stm\">reports in the press<\/a> that it is effective at<br \/>\nimproving strength, endurance and co-ordination!  I&#8217;m not<br \/>\nas convinced about the benefits having suffered a recent<br \/>\nsevere case of Wii-itis from being a little too<br \/>\ncompetitive at the boxing event!<\/p>\n<p>I digress slightly &#8211; this week is an important week for<br \/>\njunior doctors around the country, with many people in<br \/>\nrun-through posts having their RITA (or equivalent) coming<br \/>\nup, GP exam results, postgraduate clinical exams and job<br \/>\ninterviews.  This of course means that&#8217;s it an even more<br \/>\nimportant week for surgical personnel managers and study<br \/>\nleave co-ordinators &#8211; so good luck to everyone!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the Great Application Race are starting to filter through, slowly.
