You can download it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imedicalapps.com\/2012\/02\/stanfords-septris-brings-gamification-healthcare-cme\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. There is also a <a title=\"Sepsis\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=w6AyyZMgQpk\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube<\/a> demo.<\/p>\n<p>If a doctor decides on an appropriate course of action, the avatar bumps up the page, ultimately ending at the top if their life is saved.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa Shieh, medical director for quality at Stanford, told delegates attending the spring conference of <a title=\"HighWire Press\" href=\"http:\/\/highwire.stanford.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">HighWire Press<\/a>, the university\u2019s web hosting service for scholarly publishers: \u201cDoctors are inherently competitive and we wanted something challenging that doctors can play anytime, with bonus points for saving lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bmj.com\/bmj\/2012\/03\/16\/david-payne-playing-the-sepsis-game\/photo-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15454\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15454\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.bmj.com\/bmj\/files\/2012\/03\/photo1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The game is based on Stanford\u2019s sepsis guidelines, and, according to Dr Shieh, uses repetition to reinforce those guidelines. It\u2019s also fast, but \u201cnot so fast that you cannot think,\u201d she said.
