As part of an ongoing series of masterclasses in Vancouver, Canada was lucky enough to host Jo Gibson, shoulder specialist physiotherapist from the UK. Jo delivered an in-depth update of the latest shoulder rehabilitation evidence. The course focused on the role of the kinetic chain in developing shoulder pathology and looking at the patient from a biopsychosocial perspective and participants particularly appreciated the uncomplicated approach to triaging shoulder pain, with practical tips on rehabilitation and management.<\/p>\n

The masterclass series is bringing together some of the top international physiotherapists with Jo following on from Jill Cook\u2019s tendinopathy update earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

Still to visit are Alison Grimaldi who currently has the 2nd<\/sup>most popular podcast of all-time on our BJSM podcast platform (click here<\/a> to listen). Alison will be looking at a practical approach to managing lateral hip pain, delivering the most up to date evidence-based practice following her involvement with the LEAP trial. 1<\/sup>LEAP was recently published in the prestigious BMJ and has garnered significant interest in its implications for the management of lateral hip pain.\u00a0She\u00a0will be visiting Vancouver on the 22-23rd<\/sup>September 2018. As we strive to serve the international community and aim to be inclusive of all members the BJSM recently held a webinar series in which Alison was one of our featured speakers. The webinar series also had content from two of our other top podcast speakers in Kieran O\u2019Sullivan and Jeremy Lewis. Both clinicians provide extremely practical tips on the management of low back and shoulder pain in daily musculoskeletal therapy. The webinars include a host of references to recent evidence-based practice and can support clinicians looking to access valuable continuing professional development resources.<\/p>\n
