Here&#8217;s another one &#8211; breast feeding probably doesn&#8217;t reduce obesity rates in later childhood. The results of an 11 year follow up of an RCT [1] confirm that, as systematic reviews with meta-analysis have suggested, the weight reduction in children may be the result of publication bias and selective outcome reporting bias.<\/p>\n<p>There are still some really great reasons to breastfeed; stuff like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC1307172\/\">longer periods of proper sleep experienced as a father<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biomedcentral.com\/1471-2458\/11\/S3\/S15\">reduction in GI disturbance <\/a>and death,\u00a0and potentially <a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/ijc.21274\/abstract\">reduced chance of childhood leukaemia<\/a> (well &#8211; that&#8217;s a bit weak too).
