Congratulations on your excellent review about Portuguese healthcare system status quo. I think critical people like you will make the future of portuguese medicine brighter.

I would like to add two aspects. IMHO:
1) There is an apparent increasing concern about quality of services issue in portuguese healthcare system. However, both human resources training and differenciation but also maintenance of adequate staffing levels are commonly ignored aspects by administrators.
2) There seems to be an obsession by governing bodies about figures related to processes indicators, such as number of surgeries or length of stay, disregarding outcome related indicators.
