The transfats in the vegetable oil, or even the saturated fats in the palm oil, are associated with the long term cardiovascular consequences. But the sugar in ketchup is not benign, and the potential acute impact of poorly prepared mayonnaise can be devastating, as the closure of a number of restaurants in Canberra and New York attests. It is good that Tracey is on the alert at the Club, but we need to promote good food choices across all sources of our nutrition.

Ahhh, the cognitive dissonance: even as we discuss melanomas and sat-fat dangers, we sit in the equatorial sun and eat fries. Not just hypothetical ones, actual ones, like earlier this week. Perhaps we do need assistance in protecting ourselves from ourselves.
