I used to eat a predominantly vegetarian diet, ie whole grains and dairy products, vegetables and not much meat or fish. However a couple of years ago after being diagnosed with diabetes type 2 (even though I'm slim) I switched to a primitive diet, or Paleo diet, which is based on lots of meat and fish, nuts and lots of non-starchy vegetables, the type of diet our ancestors evolved on. I have never felt better and it shows in my more optimistic personality and energy ! Diabetes is well controlled too.

I find this a very interesting trend that is happening to many people all over the world. In Uganda where I practice, I have found myself advising more and more of my female patients to consume vegetables and less animal products. I have consumed more vegetables in the past months than I have before and I have experienced the difference.I would imagine a more fresh and pleasant person type emerging from someone consuming plenty of aubergines!.
