Hi there,

I absolutely agree with you. Here in the UK, the medical curricula have been modified quite extensively in the recent years - to the dismays of old-school consultants who were appalled by medical students' knowledge (or lack thereof!) of anatomy.

But with so many new additions to the curricula (public health, ethics, communication skills, as well as all these "appraisal skills" they keep emphasising on!), unless they want to keep us in university for 10 years, it's impossible to cover everything about everything.

Hi Ohad,

Wonderful piece of blog and musings! Yes you are right about the evaluation system and I wonder if very many people / profs have been changed with the pace the medicine is changing!

In my experience, profs would say anything and call for any books but ultimately they will stick to their own old and way of books!!! This is paradox!

Thanks!

Best wishes,
mati
