Thanks for the article Julian.

I was at the tarining workshop you refer to and was touched by Norman's courage I still remember his words;
"its like you are brewing chorea in Zim and you say you have contained it! It must be by magic!"

My heart goes to the Normans in zim and elsewhere in the world and this is what keeps the work of right to health monitors challenging and real. Yet one cannot stop asking, what can we do in the area of in Governance and economic social rights deficit in Africa?

Happy new year 2009.

In countries like zimbabwe, it is people like Norman who provide hope for a better future. I cannot imagine what he must be going through though. Not being able to continue his studies must have been frustating for him. We must commend his courage to speak for his fellow citizens who are being deprived of their rights. Good luck to all the Normans in Zimbabwe and rest of the world.

Dear Julian Sheather,
when a government, like that of Zimbabwe, in practice is a tyranny, does not like to be reminded of obligations such as health well functioning. In addition, in such as country, information is under censure. It rules not by consensus but by fear. It does not promote the interests of its citizens; it brutally subdues them to the interests of the political elite, as you have written. As a consequence, you have to suggest to all Medicine students to visit foreign websites which are giving information on real Medicine advances unavoidable in giving an END to Middle Ages of today's Medicine of western countries: ask Google.com. Doing so, you will be loved for ever by Zimbabwe people.
