MMR and autism

In a case control study of 98 children with autism spectrum disorder, 52 with developmental problems but no autism and 90 with normal development, no relationship was found with measles antibody levels and autistic symptoms. Here.

  1. If you’re interested in this sort of thing, a blog called Black Triangle has looked at the reaction of the press to this, here. What a shocker - some segments of the press report this study in a very negative light indeed.

    (I spotted this on Ben Goldacre’s very excellent Bad Science blog - he’s got this miniblog thing which runs at the right hand side)
